Why We Exist
Children in government schools receive quality education that equips them with the skills, confidence, and career readiness to become productive citizens
India Literacy Project (ILP) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1990, working across 10 states in India. ILP partners with local NGOs, government education departments, and corporate foundations to strengthen government schools from within – designing interventions, training teachers, and building community ownership around education. Through a three-stage approach – Schooling, Learning, and Earning – ILP has reached over 3 million children in more than 14,000 schools across 2,800 villages. ILP is a registered 501(c)(3) in the US (EIN: 36-3779020) and a Public Charitable Trust in India.
